The Jilin University (short: JLU - Chinese 吉林 大学 , Pinyin Jílín Dàxué ) is a state university founded in 1946 in the People's Republic of China ; it is based in Changchun , the capital of Jilin Province .
Jilin University is one of the universities of Project 211 and in 2005 had over 60,000 students and over 15,000 academic staff.
