Jill Adams
Jill Adams (born Jill Siggins on July 22, 1930 in London , England , † May 13, 2008 in Clareance , Portugal ) was a British actress and glamor girl .
Life
Jill Adams began her career as a model and was eventually discovered as an actress in the early 1950s. She appeared mostly in comedies like Doctor Ahoy! , Brothers in Law , The Green Man or Isn't It Crazy - These tough cops . The English film and rainbow press gave her the nickname "Britain's Marilyn Monroe ". In 1954 it graced the cover of Picturegoer for the first time , and a year later it was the cover photo of Photoplay Magazine . She has appeared in over 25 films and television series. Jill Adams ended her film career in the mid-1960s.
From 1951 to 1953 she was married to the American Jim Adams, the couple had a daughter. In 1957 she married the well-known British radio presenter Peter Haigh. A daughter was also born from this marriage. In the early 1970s the family moved to Portugal where Adams and Haigh opened a hotel. The couple separated in 1976. She opened a restaurant with her future partner, Mike Johnson. Jill Adams died of cancer in 2008.
Her mother was the silent film star Molly Adair (1905-1990) (including The Blue Lagoon (1923), A Gamble in Lives (1924)).
