Jim Eadie (born February 10, 1968 ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party .

Life

Eadie attended Waverley Secondary School and then studied at the University of Strathclyde . He then worked for the Royal College of Nursing and Scottish Television (STV), among others . In 2002 Eadie became chairman of the Scottish subsidiary of the British Pharmaceutical Industry Association, ABPI . Since 2008 he has been working as an independent consultant.

Political career

For the first time, Eadie ran in the 2011 general election to national elections. In his constituency of Edinburgh Southern he won the highest percentage of votes straight away, replacing the Liberal Democrat Mike Pringle , who won the mandate of the predecessor constituency of Edinburgh South in the previous two elections. As a result, Eadie first moved into the Scottish Parliament . In the 2016 elections , he lost his seat to Labor candidate Daniel Johnson .

Eadie ran for the constituency of Edinburgh South in the 2017 early general election . However, he could not prevail against the incumbent Labor candidate Ian Murray .
