Jim Irons

Jim Irons (actually James Donald Irons; born September 22, 1937 in Kirkland Lake , † January 18, 2014 in Owen Sound ) was a Canadian middle-distance runner .

At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth in 1962 , he finished eighth in the mile run .

In the same year he became Canadian champion over a mile. He set his personal best over this distance of 4: 01.9 minutes on July 12, 1963 in Toronto .

In 1985 he was inducted into the Brampton Sports Hall of Fame .
