Jimbō-chō

A bookstore in Jimbōchō 2-chōme, founded in 1918 and now specializing in film, theater and entertainment.

Jimbō-chō ( Japanese 神 保 町 ) is an area in the Tōkyōter district of Chiyoda in Japan. It is best known for its many bookshops and is therefore also called " Book Town " ( 本 の 街 Hon no Machi ).

The middle of Jimbō-chō is at the intersection of Yasukuni-dōri and Hakusan-dōri at Jimbōchō Station ( Tōkyō Metro Hanzōmon Line , Toei Mita Line and Toei Shinjuku Line ). Many bookshops are lined up along the Yasukuni-dōri, mainly selling older books and antiques. There are several universities in the vicinity of Jimbō-chō, such as B. Nihon University , Senshū University , Meiji University , Hōsei University and Yasukuni Shrine .
