Jimilian

Jimilian (born August 22, 1994 in Laç , Albania ; full name Jimilian Ismaili ) is a Danish pop singer from Maribo .

Career

Jimilian Ismaili comes from Laç in northern Albania . His father Enver Ismaili is also a musician; he became known in his homeland after an appearance at the National Folklore Festival in 1983. When Jimilian was around six years old, his family emigrated and came to Maribo via Belgium and the Danish refugee camp Sandholm. He attended music school, first learned the piano and then took singing lessons. At the age of twelve he took part in the Melodi Grand Prix junior , the Danish preliminary round for the MGP Nordic , with the rap song Penge . Together with three children from the dance school he joined under the name Lil G to.

As a teenager he recorded songs and put them on the Internet. With videos like Vibration and Elsker , he achieved views in the millions. In 2009 he released his first album called Vejen mod toppen . The following year he also released a single with rapper and songwriter Blak . He had his first chart success in 2012 with the song Hjerteslag , which reached number 20 in the Danish Top 40 . In the following year he had another hit with Hvem gi'r dig lov and with his second album Ved du har mig he also made it into the album charts. In 2013 he was named Danish Performer of the Year at the MTV Europe Awards ahead of Medina and Nik & Jay .

The real breakthrough came in 2015 with the song Slem igen , which he recorded with Blak. It became a top 10 hit and stayed in the charts for over half a year. At the beginning of 2016 another album with the title Mig og mig selv was released , which was just as successful as the single. With Sommer sindssyg and with Klip , another collaboration with Blak, he had two more top 10 hits in the same year.
