The Hemus Peak (English; Bulgarian връх Хемус wrach Chemus ) is an icy and 636 m high mountain on Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises on the northwestern extension of Mount Bowles 1.72 km northwest of its highest point, 0.92 km north to west of Bowles West Peak , 3.55 km northeast of Rezen Knoll , 6.27 km east to north of Aleko Rock and 3 , 3 miles south to east of Gleaner Heights . The mountain is cone-shaped, 850 m long and 550 m wide in an east-west extension. To the west-southwest of it lies the Perunika Glacier , which is fed by a small tributary glacier from the area between Hemus Peak and Bowles West Peak.
The name was given by Bulgarian scientists on June 24, 1996. Chemus is a traditional name for the Balkan Mountains in Bulgaria.
