Jimmie Strimell (born December 3, 1980 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish guitarist , singer and composer . He was best known as the front man of Dead by April . He was also active in the bands Nightrage , Cipher System , DeathDestruction , The End of Grace and Ends With a Bullet .

He was born and raised in Gothenburg, where he still lives today with his two sons and his girlfriend.

Life as a singer

Musical beginnings (2004–2007)

In 2004 Jimmie Strimell joined the band Death Destruction, which was founded in the same year . The title of the band refers to the hate according to their own statement . Strimell is the second singer in the band's history. Former singer Rikard Zander wanted to concentrate on his band Evergrey , from which DeathDestruction emerged as a side project. The metal band founded in Gothenburg released their first studio album in August 2011. In June 2012 he left the band.

In 2005, Jimmie Strimell joined the band Nightrage as a singer, as the former front man could no longer find time for the band. Shortly afterwards, Alexander Svenningson and Henric Carlsson, later founding members of Dead by April , also joined Nightrage. After the release of the third album A New Disease Is Born in 2007, the three left the band and formed Dead by April.

Between 2005 and 2007, Jimmie Strimel was also the front man of the band Cipher System .

Dead by April (2007-2013 and 2017-2020)

The band Dead by April is dedicated to a more pop-influenced form of metalcore and alternative metal . Jimmie Strimell was the band's front vocalist from 2007 to 2013. During this time it turned out to be his most famous band to date. In 2009 her debut album Dead by April was released . After minor modifications by the band members, the second studio album Incomparable was released on September 21, 2011 . During the recording of the third studio album and the release of their first live DVD, the remaining band members announced on March 18, 2013 that Jimmie was no longer part of Dead by April. Until his departure, Strimell was active alongside Pontus Hjelm as the band's composer. In May 2017 he rejoined Dead By April and was replaced in 2020 by Christopher Kristensen from the band Demotional due to his drug addiction .

The End of Grace

In November 2012 Strimell formed the band The End of Grace with Jimmy Bergman, Robert Silentrobb Karlsson, Marcus Rosell and Sulan Von Zoomlander . There were only a few tracks for the unfinished EP before Jimmie Strimmel and Robert Silentrobb Karlsson left the band due to unforeseen events. They were replaced by Kriss Panic and Ferbie Chez.

Projects after Dead by April (since 2013)

On April 14, 2013, it was announced through his Facebook fan page that he had joined the band Ends with a Bullet . On the same day a teaser of the band was published on Youtube. Together with the other members, Strimell spent a year in the studio until the debut album "Twenty Seven" was finally released on August 13, 2014. Shortly before its release, however, he left the band.

On February 13th, 2015 it was announced that Strimell is the new frontman of the Swedish metalcore band My Collapse .
