Jinding
Jinding ( Chinese 金顶 , Pinyin Jīndǐng - "Golden Summit") is one of the most important Buddhist temples in the Emei Shan Mountains in the area of Emeishan in the southwest Chinese province of Sichuan , which is one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Buddhism in China . It is a national focus temple of Buddhism in Han Chinese areas . It goes back to the Tang Dynasty .
The gold-plated temple is on the top of the mountain, hence its name.
Important buildings of the temple are Maitreya Hall, Main Hall and Samantabhadra Hall.
There are inscriptions by various masters in the temple.
monument
The temple has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (1-133) since 1961 . The temple is also on the Sichuan Province Monuments List .
