Jing Junhai

Jing Junhai (Chinese: 景 俊 海; born December 1960 in Baishui ( Weinan ), Shaanxi Province ) is a Chinese politician and has been the governor of Jilin since 2018 . Jing spent much of his career in Shaanxi Province.

Life

Jing was born in Baishui District, Shaanxi Province . In July 1982 he joined the Chinese Communist Party . He studied physics at Xi'an University of Electronics and Technology . He stayed at the university and became a lecturer. In June 1992 he was promoted to professor.

In September 1992, he was appointed project manager of the Xi'an Technology and Development Zone , a free trade zone in Xi'an City. There he was responsible for working with investors outside mainland China and headed an innovation center. In August 1997 he was promoted to deputy head of the development zone. In May 2002, he was appointed head of the Xi'an Development and Planning Commission. In January 2003 he became the administrative manager of the development zone. In November 2005, he was appointed a member of the Xi'an Party's Standing Committee. He was promoted to lieutenant governor of Shaanxi Province in January 2008. In May 2012, Jing was elected head of the Propaganda Department and a member of the Shaanxi Provincial Party's Standing Committee.

Jing was appointed Deputy Head of the Communist Party's Propaganda Department in July 2015 and Beijing Deputy Party Chief in April 2017 . In January 2018, Jing became the governor of Jilin.
