Jiujiang (district)

The circle Jiujiang ( Chinese  九江县 , pinyin Jiǔjiāng Xiàn ) was a group of prefecture-level city of Jiujiang in the southern Chinese province of Jiangxi . It had an area of ​​911 km² and had a population of 340,000 (2006). Its main town was the large community of Shahejie (沙河 街镇).

Jiujiang was one of the oldest counties in Jiangxi Province. In September 2017, the district was dissolved and converted to the Chaisang District in order to further develop the central section of the Yangtze River Economic Belt .
