João Maia da Conceicão

João Maia da Conceicão (born February 7, 1969 in Ermera , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor . He is a member of the Partido Unidade Nacional (PUN).

Conceicão was a representative of PUN MP Domingos Mesquita from January 8, 2008 to 2009 in the national parliament of East Timor . East Timorese law gives MPs the opportunity to suspend their mandate for a while. During this time, she will replace the next candidate on the party list of the previous election in parliament. The MP can later resume his mandate.

While Conceicão was MP, he was given unpaid leave by the Ministry of Education from his post as director of the Nino Konis Santana Secondary School in Gleno . During this time he was also a member of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, Defense and National Security (Commission B) as secretary.

In the new elections in 2012 , Conceicão no longer stood for the PUN. In any case, the PUN failed at the three percent hurdle.
