João Luís de Pina Cabral e Villas Boas , better known as João Villas-Boas (born October 21, 1982 in Porto ) is a Portuguese actor .

Life

Villas-Boas was born on October 21, 1982, the second of four children to the engineer Luís Villas-Boas (* 1952) and Maria Silva (* 1951) in Porto. His grandmother Margaret Kendall was English and moved with her mother from Cheadle to Portugal to start a wine business. His great-uncle José Rui Villas-Boas was Viscount of Guilhomil . His brother André is a soccer coach.

Career

João Villas-Boas made his first appearance as an actor in the short film A Loja , where he played the role of Lourenço. After further appearances, among others in the film A Bela eo Paparazzo (as Treplev), he had his first major role in the drama Mistérios de Lisboa (Eng. " The Secrets of Lisbon ", directed by Raúl Ruiz ) as Criado. After that he was seen more and more frequently on Portuguese television , including Outras Histórias , Um Poema por Semana and Depois do Adeus .
