A Bela eo Paparazzo (Eng .: Beauty and the Paparazzo) is a Portuguese film from 2010.

action

The television star Mariana is being followed by a paparazzo (João) who, under a pseudonym, is constantly making scandalous photos on the front pages of the rainbow press. Since she never sees him, she doesn't recognize him when their paths happen to cross. João does not reveal himself and lets herself into an affair with her. For her part, she enjoys the break from the hustle and bustle of celebrities in his chaotic men's shared apartment in an idyllic old town apartment in Lisbon . As their relationship begins to deepen, it becomes increasingly difficult for João to hide his true identity, and conflict-ridden decisions are paved for everyone involved.

reception

The film follows the tradition of the former Novo Cinema director Vasconcelos, who seeks to process relevant content in a way that attracts the public. The ex-model Soraia Chaves , who has become very popular as an actress in Portugal, plays a popular television presenter who gets caught up in the entanglements of the modern media world and its staging of celebrities and seeks a sincere, human approach, which is both from her own ambition and from her impatient and the ambition-eaten environment is prevented. The theme is staged as a humorous, light comedy, with some self-irony and with scenarios that alternate between idyllic old town streets and a modern, glamorous Lisbon. The soundtrack also supported the popularity of the film, for example with plays by Jorge Palma .

The film became one of the comparatively rare domestic blockbusters in Portugal and was by far the most widely watched Portuguese film in the country in 2010. As recently as November 2012, it was one of the ten most-watched Portuguese films since the 2004 public box office statistics. In 2011, it was nominated for the Globo de Ouro in two categories . In 2010 it was released on DVD at ZON Lusomundo (now ZON Multimédia ), which was presented to the public in the Fnac branch of Centro Colombo in Lisbon with the participation of the media in the presence of the director, the producer and the two main actors .
