Soraia Chaves (born June 22, 1982 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese model and actress .

Life

She was discovered as a model during one of her performances in her family's circus and started modeling at the age of 14. She was considered a top model in Portugal in the early 2000s and was a cover girl for various magazines, including a. for the FHM magazine . For her first acting role, she engaged the former television director Carlos Coelho da Silva . His adaptation of the novel O Crime do Padre Amaro ( The Crime of Father Amaro ) by Eça de Queiroz was a great success, and in May 2012 it was the most successful Portuguese film since 2004. The director António-Pedro Vasconcelos saw her in the film and hired her as the leading actress for two films ( Call Girl 2007 and A Bela eo Paparazzo 2010), in which she also impressed as an actor. Both films were also box office hits in Portugal (among the 10 most successful Portuguese films since 2004) and established her as an actress. Her fame continued to grow after she became known as a model and through television appearances. She is now one of the most famous personalities in the Portuguese entertainment industry.

In 2007 she won the Globo de Ouro for her role in Call Girl .
