Joachim Claus

Joachim Claus (born October 31, 1961 in Gernrode im Eichsfeld ) is a German local politician ( CDU ) and was district administrator in the Nordhausen district from 1990 to 2012 .

Claus was a teacher of mathematics and physics at the Ernst-Thälmann-Schule in Nordhausen until his election as district administrator in May 1990 . At the age of 28, he was Germany's youngest district administrator at the time. Joachim Claus, who became a member of the CDU-Ost in 1979 , left office voluntarily in 2012; his successor was Birgit Keller ( Die Linke ). Today he works as a career advisor.

Claus is married, has an adult daughter and lives in Bielen near Nordhausen.
