Joachim Cochlovius

Joachim Cochlovius (born August 29, 1943 in Teplitz-Schönau ) is a German Lutheran , evangelical theologian of the revival movement and author. He is pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hanover . He also works as a counselor in pastoral care.

Live and act

Cochlovius passed his Abitur in 1963 in Berlin and studied Protestant theology and philosophy in Berlin, Münster and Erlangen. He completed his vicariate in Erlangen-Büchenbach. In 1977 he was at the University of Erlangen with a thesis on the subject of confession and unity of the Church in German Protestantism 1840-1850 Dr. theol. PhD .

From 1974 to 1979 Cochlovius worked in his first parish in Berg / Upper Franconia.

From 1979 to 1996 Cochlovius was director of studies at the spiritual armament center in Krelingen . The spiritual armament center Krelingen has u. a. set the task of training budding theologians. Joachim Cochlovius has been the full-time first chairman of the community aid association working within the Protestant regional churches since 1996 .

Under his chairmanship, the Community Aid Association launched in 2003 the call for “Pastoral help instead of church recognition for same-sex partnerships” to those congregations from member churches of the EKD who are critical of the blessing of same-sex couples to openly profess their convictions and to openly acknowledge their beliefs and also for others by adding an address list To identify communities. By September 2006, 123 congregations (out of a total of around 16,200 EKD congregations) had agreed to follow this call.

In 2004 , the community network was founded on the initiative of Joachim Cochlovius.

Cochlovius takes the position that a renewal in the people's church is urgently needed, since the biblical gospel is more and more " trampled underfoot " and bishops and pastors are increasingly saying goodbye to the 2000 year old biblical consensus.

Cochlovius lives with his wife Lieselotte in Walsrode . The marriage had four children.
