Joachim Erich

Joachim Erich (* 1526 in Greifswald ; † August 22, 1598 ibid), also known as Joachim Erich I to distinguish it from other successors of the same name , was a Greifswald mayor .

Life

Joachim Erich was a son of the Greifswald councilor Johannes Erich († 1559) and Barbara Quant. He was enrolled at Greifswald University in 1539 and, after the death of his father, was admitted to the city council. From 1572 until his death he was mayor of Greifswald.

Joachim Erich was married to Anna Völschow (1538–1583), a daughter of councilor Martin Völschow († 1590). The couple had six sons and three daughters. The son Johannes was Greifswald's mayor from 1603 to 1608, the son Joachim (II.) (1569–1613 / 14) was councilor there and the son Michael was councilor in Anklam .
