Joachim Ernst (II.) Of Anhalt-Dessau (* July 28, 1592 in Dessau ; † May 28, 1615 there ) was Hereditary Prince of Anhalt-Dessau .

Life

Joachim Ernst was the first son of Prince Johann Georg I of Anhalt-Dessau from his first marriage to Dorothea , daughter of Count Johann Albrecht VI. from Mansfeld in Arnstein .

Joachim Ernst was brought up carefully and, after completing his gentlemanly journey, entered active military service at the age of 18, where he famously participated in wars on the Rhine. He fought under the command of his uncle Christian on the Maass and in the siege of Liège . Joachim Ernst was appointed colonel of the united princes and estates in Heilbronn. He died of the leaves at the age of 22 before his father . Shortly beforehand, he is said to have predicted the exact day and hour of his death. Joachim Ernst was buried in the Marienkirche in Dessau.
