Joachim Hasler

Joachim Hasler (born April 28, 1929 in Berlin ; † January 25, 1995 there ) was a German director, screenwriter and cameraman.

Life

Hasler completed an apprenticeship in a film printing plant and then worked at the Agfa Filmfabrik in Wolfen , where he met the cameramen Friedl Behn-Grund and Bruno Mondi . From 1947, he started training as a cameraman in the DEFA studios. He made his comrade debut in 1951 in the DEFA film The Condemned Village . Until 1984 Hasler also worked as a screenwriter and performed in popular DEFA films such as Hot Summer or Don't cheat, darling! Director.

Joachim Hasler was married to the choreographer and ballet director Gisela Walther . He died in January 1995 in Berlin. His grave is in the Resurrection Cemetery in Berlin-Weißensee .

As part of the collective for the feature film The Song of the Sailors , Hasler was awarded the National Second Class Prize on October 4, 1959 .
