Joachim Knappe (born May 16, 1929 in Zeitz ; † November 3, 1994 in Schleusingen ) was a German writer .

Life

Joachim Knappe was the son of an engineer . He began an apprenticeship as an electrician , which he broke off. He then worked in various professions, including a. as a seller. Long hospital stays followed from 1951 to 1956. From 1956 to 1959 he studied at the "Johannes R. Becher" literature institute in Leipzig . He then edited a company newspaper until 1961 . From 1961 to 1965 he did cultural work in a large company in Eisenhüttenstadt .

Joachim Knappes work includes poetry and novels . "My Nameless Country" is a development novel; the "The birch up there", "Women without Men" and "Farewell to Marie", consisting of the volumes trilogy has the story of a working-class family on the subject.

Joachim Knappe received the FDGB Art Prize in 1966 and 1971 , the Max Reger Art Prize in 1976 and the GDR Medal of Merit in 1979 .
