Joachim Kolbe

Joachim Kolbe (born February 11, 1949 in Berkenbrück ; † March 18, 2003 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Kolbe made from 1965 to 1968 trained as a fitter , during which he also earned a high school. Between 1970 and 1980 he worked as a locksmith. From 1978 to 1983 he studied chemical plant engineering at the Fürstenwalde University of Applied Sciences and worked as a development engineer as early as 1980. After the reunification in the GDR , he initially worked as an insurance salesman until 1994 and then worked for a member of the Bundestag until his election to the Landtag in 1999. Kolbe was married and the father of three children.

Kolbe was first elected to the Fürstenwalde city ​​council in 1990 . Until 2003 he was a member of the assembly as chairman of the SPD parliamentary group .

In the state elections in Brandenburg in 1999 he was elected to the Brandenburg state parliament as a direct candidate for the SPD in constituency 31 (Oder-Spree II) . He won with 32.12% of the votes in front of the candidates from the CDU and PDS , who both achieved almost equally about 28% of the first votes. Kolbe was a member of parliament from September 29, 1999 until his death on March 18, 2003. He was a member of the Parliament's Petitions Committee and in the Committee on Budget and Finance. Heidrun Schellschmidt replaced Kolbe in the Potsdam state parliament.
