Joachim Reichstein

Joachim Reichstein (born January 5, 1939 in Lüben , Lower Silesia ) is a German prehistorian .

Life

Reichstein received his doctorate in 1967 at the University of Kiel and then worked first at the State Office for Prehistory and Protohistory in Schleswig, then at the Institute for Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Kiel. He then moved to the State Office for Prehistory and Early History of Schleswig-Holstein (renamed the State Archaeological Office Schleswig-Holstein in 1996 ). From 1983 to 2004 he headed the office and was a state archaeologist for Schleswig-Holstein .

In 1987 he was awarded the honorary professorship of the State of Schleswig-Holstein “in recognition of his outstanding services to the archaeological preservation of monuments in the state of Schleswig-Holstein and in recognition of his scientific achievements in the service of state archeology ”.
