Joachim Schneider & Söhne is a craft business for guitar making that has existed in Markneukirchen in the Vogtland district since 1894 .

history

Plucked instrument maker Joachim Schneider (1939–2019) learned the craft of guitar making from his grandfather Willy Blahowetz and ran the family business, which was founded in 1894, from 1961 until his death in 2019. In his workshop, he trained his two sons Steffen and André to become master plucked instrument makers who have been running the company together since September 2019.

Schneider was active on the board of the Vogtland District Craftsmen's Association for many years and was chief master of the Vogtland musical instrument making guild in Markneukirchen until 2018 .

He has been awarded numerous prizes, including a prize at the International Guitar Building Competition in Kutna Hora ( Czech Republic )
