Joachim Wattendorff

Joachim Wattendorff (born October 30, 1928 in Münster ; † April 7, 2008 in Freiburg im Üechtland ) was a German biologist .

Life

Joachim Wattendorff studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart , the Westphalian Wilhelms University of Münster and the University of Graz . In 1957 he was at the University of Münster with Siegfried Strugger with the work over the action of chromate to the plant cell doctorate . He then dealt with the field of geobotany ; from 1962 he was a research assistant at the Botanical Institute of the Swiss University of Freiburg . In 1965 he became a lecturer and in 1968 he completed his habilitation in Freiburg im Üechtland. After a private lectureship, he became an assistant professor at the University of Freiburg in 1969 and shortly thereafter an associate professor at the University's Institute for Botanical Biology and Phytochemistry . In 1996 he retired .

His main areas of research were cell physiology and radiation biology . He has published numerous scientific articles and papers.
