Joakim Haeggman (born August 28, 1969 in Kalmar , Sweden ) is a Swedish professional golfer on the European Tour .

Career

He became a professional golfer in 1989 and qualified for the European Tour through the Tour School in the fall . Haeggman has so far recorded three wins at this major European tournament series and was in the top 20 of the money list in 1993, 1997 and 2004.

He was the first Swede to play for Europe in the Ryder Cup and represented his home country twice in the Dunhill Cup and four times in the World Cup .

Haeggman has a high recognition value in tournaments: He lies flat on his stomach to read the putt line.

His passion, ice hockey , cost him two breaks in his career: in 1994 a severe shoulder dislocation and broken ribs with a break of almost two years, and in December 2002 a broken ankle that made Haeggman miss half a season.
