Joan Castelló Guasch

Joan Castelló i Guasch (born March 15, 1911 in Eivissa , † March 24, 1984 in Palma de Mallorca ) was a Catalan publisher and writer .

Life

He is the founder of the first printing house in the Pityuses and the founder of La Unió Tipogràfica d'Eivissa . Joan Castelló published several tourist guides and collected and disseminated a lot of folkloric material about Ibiza and Formentera during his life . For 35 years he edited the bilingual Almanac El Pitiuso , wrote numerous works on various aspects of folk culture, and above all published a comprehensive collection of folk fables and legends (Rondaies) of Ibiza and Formentera. In 1953 Rondaies eivissenques (Ibizan Fairy Tales) appeared and in 1976 he published Rondaies de Formentera .
