Joan Haanappel (born November 13, 1940 in The Hague ) is a former Dutch figure skater who started in a single run .

The Dutch champion from 1955 to 1958 won the first figure skating medal for the Netherlands with bronze at the European championship in 1958 in Bratislava . At the European Championships in Davos in 1959 and in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1960 , she repeated winning the bronze medal. Both times she was behind her somewhat younger compatriot Sjoukje Dijkstra .

In the period from 1955 to 1960 she took part in world championships . Her best result was fifth place in Vancouver in 1960 . Haanappel played two Olympic Games . In 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo she finished 13th and in 1960 in Squaw Valley she was fifth.

After the end of her amateur career, Haanappel switched to the professionals and took part in the ice revue Holiday on Ice. She has been working as a television commentator since 1975. From 1980 to 1981 she moderated together with Sissy de Mas The Current Sports Studio .
