Joan Pavelich
Joan Pavelich (born May 28, 1953 ) is a former Canadian discus thrower and shot putter .
In 1970 she was fifth in discus throw and seventh in shot put at the British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh . The following year she was fourth in the discus throw and seventh in the shot put at the 1971 Pan American Games in Cali. In 1973 she won silver in the discus throw at the Pacific Conference Games .
In 1969 and 1972 she was Canadian champion in the shot put and in 1974 US champion in discus throw with her personal best of 53.02 m. She set her personal best in the shot put of 14.60 m on July 3, 1971 in Berkeley .
