Joanna Carswell (born July 8, 1988 in Thames ) is a former New Zealand tennis player .

Career

Carswell started playing tennis at the age of eight and her preferred surface is the hard court. She primarily plays on the ITF Women's Circuit , where she couldn't win a title.

On the WTA Tour in January 2016, she received a wildcard for qualifying for the ASB Classic in Auckland . But she failed there in the first qualifying round against the Czech Andrea Hlaváčková with 0: 6 and 4: 6. For the ASB Classic 2017 she again received a wildcard for qualification , where she won her first round match against her compatriot Claudia Williams , but then lost to Mona Barthel in the second round with 1: 6 and 1: 6.

Carswell first played for the New Zealand Fed Cup team in 2017 ; their Fed Cup record shows 1 win and 1 loss.
