Joaquim Augusto Kopke Schwerin (Severin) de Sousa , 1st Baron of Massarelos (born April 25, 1806 in Porto , Portugal ; † July 16, 1895 ibid) was a Portuguese entrepreneur, nobleman and military of German descent. For a long time he was the head of the Kopke - Port wine dynasty and its last known member.

Joaquim Augusto Kopke was born in Porto into the famous Kopke port wine dynasty, which was founded by German emigrants. During the Miguelista Wars , the liberal entrepreneur was on the side of those who fought for the future reigning Queen Dona Maria II da Gloria. This made him the first (and only) Baron (Barão) de Massarelos by decree on May 21, 1847 for his services.

In 1834 he married and had four children. He was also the bearer of the Grand Cross of the Knights of Christ.

He later founded the Porto Chamber of Commerce (Associação Comercial do Porto), of which he was President from 1850 to 1858. He was also the last known family member of the dynasty who was also head. After his death, the company fell to another family.
