Jochen Aldinger

Jochen Aldinger (born February 6, 1973 in Stuttgart ) is a German pianist , Hammond organist and composer .

Career and work

Aldinger started playing the piano at the age of six. After a detour via mathematics and computer science , he studied jazz piano and composition from 1996, and later also the Hammond organ. First at Berklee College of Music in Boston, then at the "Carl Maria von Weber" University of Music in Dresden and finally in Essen at the Folkwang University of the Arts , where he received his diploma as a jazz pianist in 2003. (He is also the recipient of the first German Hammond organ diploma.) Since then he has been working as a freelance musician.

In the following years he founded the Hammond organ trio Jochen Aldingers Downbeatclub with the guitarist Konni Behrendt and the drummer Matthias Macht, the Lied duo Goetheallee with singer Lena Sundermeyer, the chamber music jazz formation aldimenz with saxophonist Robert Menzel and played as a sideman in the Lena Sundermeyer Band . Concert tours took him all over Europe a. a. to Paris and London. In 2012 he founded the art platform art.room with the New York guitarist Oscar Peñas .

Since 2004 he has been teaching piano, composition, accompaniment and music theory / ear training at the "Carl Maria von Weber" University of Music in Dresden. In 2010 he is a member of the music working group of the Dresden Cultural Council.
