Jochen Strobl (born February 24, 1979 in Innichen ) is a former Italian Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Strobl began his career on a national level. At the Italian Championships in 1998 he won the bronze medal behind Andrea Cecon and Andrea Longo . In the same year he made his debut in the Nordic Combined World Cup . At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Ramsau in 1999 , he came in 38th place in Gundersen. At the Italian Championships in 2000 Strobl won bronze again. At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2001 in Lahti Strobl reached 36th place in the sprint and 22nd place in Gundersen. At the Italian Championships in 2001 he competed in ski jumping and in combination. He won the silver medal in ski jumping as well as in combination. From 2002 he started in the B World Cup, as he did not get any top placements in the World Cup. It was not until the 2003/04 season that he was able to place himself firmly in the World Cup and ended the season in 36th place in the overall World Cup ranking. From 2004 he won the Italian championships annually, in 2005 in the sprint and in the Gundersen. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin Strobl came in 30th place in the sprint. In the individual he reached 34th place. With the team he could not finish the competition. In the end, he achieved neither in the World Cup nor in the B World Cup, which is why he ended his active career in 2007.
