Jochen Zinner

Jochen Zinner (born January 29, 1943 in Plauen ) is a German sports scientist .

Life

Zinner was active as a water polo player at a young age . As a member of the GDR national team, he played 50 international matches between 1962 and 1970. At the same time he studied automation technology and electrical engineering and graduated in 1969 as a graduate engineer (FH). He completed a degree in mathematics and passed the diploma examination in 1974.

From 1974 to 1990 he worked as a performance diagnostician at SC Dynamo Berlin . He was a member of the central SED party leadership of the Dynamo sports association and an officer in the state organs. During this time he received his doctorate in 1982 at the German University of Physical Culture (DHfK). paed. After the fall of the Wall in the GDR, he became Head of Training Science at the Olympic Training Center in Berlin in 1991 . From 1995 to 2009 he was its director.

Since 2009 he has been professor for performance diagnostics and competitive sports at the German University for Health and Sports in Berlin.
