Barats and Bereta

Barats and Bereta are a comedian duo that consists of Luke Barats and Joe Bereta and was founded in 2003.

Luke Barats and Joe Bereta met while studying at Gonzaga University in Spokane . In addition to her work in the television station and the university theater group, she led the improvisational theater group "GUTS" (Gonzaga University Theater Sports). On the side, they shot short skits to entertain their friends and posted them online on YouTube and CollegeHumor.com. Several of their videos were presented on the YouTube homepage as “Featured Videos”, the film “Mother's Day” already had over 3.6 million viewers and is one of the 20 most popular comedy videos there. They currently work for Cornerbooth, a film and video production company, and are members of the local group of "ComedySportz", a US association of improvisational theater groups.

After negotiating with MTV and HBO , the duo signed a deal with NBC . In 2007 they finished work on a pilot episode of the series "This is Culdesac", which they were directors , scriptwriters , producers and leading actors . NBC decided not to produce any further episodes, but wants to broadcast parts of the pilot episode.

Awards

For their stand-up comedy, Barats and Bereta won the 2005 Brickwall Amateur Comedy Competition. In the same year they won first place at the “Spokane First Night Film Festival” with the film “Just wonderful”.
