Joel Pacas (born May 4, 1989 in Winnipeg ) is a Canadian biathlete .

Joel Pacas lives in Canmore and starts for the Canmore Nordic Ski Club . He is trained by Roddy Ward and has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2009. First he went cross-country skiing for three years before following his sister Nicky Pacas to biathlon. He took part in four youth and junior world championships between 2006 and 2010. Apart from 2009, he always started in all four possible competitions. 2006 in Presque Isle , the Canadian was in his best competitions 24th of the individual, 46th of the sprint, 44th of the pursuit and eighth with the Canadian relay. The performance in 2008 in Ruhpolding was a little worse , where he was 55th of the individual, qualified for the pursuit as 58th of the sprint and came in 59th place. With the season he was also ninth. The results at the 2009 home World Cup in Canmore were even slightly worse. Pacas finished 60th in the individual and missed the pursuit race by three places as 63rd in the sprint. With the relay he finished 15th. At the Canadian Junior Championships, he won the individual silver medal. In 2010 he took part in his fourth Junior World Championship. In Torsby , Sweden , he achieved roughly the same performance as the previous year: 71st in the individual, 56th in the sprint, 51st in the pursuit and 12th in the relay.

Paca's first noteworthy engagements in the performance area he had during the North American Championships in the summer biathlon 2008 in Canmore. In the sprint he was 16th, in the pursuit he improved by one to 15th. At the West Canadian Championships in Edmonton , he won the sprint title in 2009. In the 2010/11 Biathlon NorAm Cup he achieved his first podium result in this racing series in a pursuit at the start of the season in Canmore with a second place behind Robin Clegg and in front of Beau Thompson .
