Johan Brolenius (born June 7, 1977 in Örebro ) is a former Swedish ski racer . He specialized in the slalom discipline. He is currently the technical trainer for the Swedish Ski Association.

biography

Brolenius started his career in FIS races . Thanks to the Swedish federation, he was allowed to compete in the European Cup thanks to his good performance in the FIS competitions . Brolenius' World Cup debut was on January 3, 1998 in the slalom of Kranjska Gora , where he could not qualify for the second round. The Swede achieved his first World Cup points in the slalom in Kranjska Gora in 1999 as 20th. He achieved his first top 10 place in the slalom of Chamonix in 2000 with a ninth place.

His best World Cup result was fifth in the Zagreb slalom on January 9, 2009. His only top 10 place outside of the slalom was in 2004 in the combination in Chamonix. He took part in the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin and was eighth in slalom and 18th in combined at the races in Sestriere . In 1999 and 2002 he was Swedish slalom champion .

In June 2009, Brolenius retired to become a professional poker player. Since 2012 he has been working as a technical trainer for the Swedish Ski Association .
