Johan Eriksson (chess player)

Johan Eriksson (born October 30, 1973 ) is a Swedish chess player .

Life

He won the Swedish U18 Junior Championship in Malmö in 1990 and the U20 Swedish Junior Championship in Borlänge in 1992 . He finished second in July 2001 at the Sørensen Memorial in Holbæk, Denmark . In October 2003 he won the 2nd Klaksvík International Tournament ( Category 4) on the Faroe Islands , and in Klaksvík he won again in 2005.

He played club chess in the Swedish Elitserien from 1998 to 2000 and from 2003 to 2005 for Sollentuna SK , in the 2000/01 season and from 2006 to 2012 for Västerås SK , for which he has played again since 2014. With Sollentuna he was Swedish team champion in the 1998/99 and 1999/2000 seasons . He also plays club chess in Finland. He has held the title of FIDE Master since 1995 and has been an International Master since the early 2000s .

His Elo rating is 2398 (as of September 2018), his highest rating to date was 2426 from April to September 2002.
