Johan Pasch

Johan Pasch (March 12, 1706 - January 16, 1769 ) was a Swedish Rococo painter .

He was the uncle of Lorenz Pasch the Younger and Ulrika Pasch and brother of Lorenz Pasch the Elder (all three painters).

He learned in Stockholm as well as in Holland and Paris.

He was Swedish court painter from 1748 and court director from 1758. He mainly painted interiors with allegorical motifs. For example, he completed the ceiling paintings in the palace chapel in Stockholm (a commission that Guillaume Taraval had started). He also painted in Stockholm Palace and Drottningholm Palace and in the Jakobikirche in Stockholm . In his picture Honstavlan he depicted ladies-in- waiting as chickens.

He visited Paris again in 1740 and Italy from 1755 to 1758.
