Johan van der Linden

Johan van der Linden (born June 12, 1961 ) is a Dutch saxophonist, arranger and composer.

Van der Linden studied saxophone at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Ed Bogaard and attended master classes by Frederick Hemke , André Beun , Jean-Marie Londiex , Iwan Roth , Daniel Deffayet and François Daneels . From 1982 to 2003 he directed the Aurelia Saxophone Quartet , for which he wrote numerous arrangements and with which he won the Edison Klassiek in 1988 . He wrote a saxophone textbook with the musicians of the Aurelia Quartet, and he also teaches saxophone at the ArtEZ Conservatorium and the Utrecht Conservatory .

From 1982 to 1990 he was a member of the Koninklijke Militaire Kapel in The Hague, he is also a member of the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble , the Paradiso Orchestra , the Globus Ensemble , the Doelen Ensemble and the Ensemble B / ANDA Live! started, performed with orchestras such as the Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and formed a duo for new music with pianist Henry Kelder , for which numerous composers wrote works.
