Like the city church of St. Nikolai , it belongs to the Protestant parish of Forst in the Cottbus church district of the Evangelical Church of Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia .

history

After the two inner-city churches in Forst ( St. Nikolai and Landkirche) were badly damaged by the war, the church was designated as a type B church based on Otto's design as part of the Protestant Church's emergency church program on the basis of a foundation by the American section of the Lutheran World Federation Bartning built in 1950 and consecrated on October 29, 1950.

Construction and equipment

Like the other Bartning-Notkirchen, the church is a construction made of wooden trusses prefabricated in Erfurt with a polygonal choir closure. The masonry made of bricks that was plastered inside and out from the start is raised between the girders. A continuous ribbon of windows is drawn between the masonry and the roof. The slate covering of the roof was renewed in 1989. The windows were partially renewed in the 1990s. The gable wall of the front side carries a small belfry in which the bell is visible. The community room is located under the west gallery. There is an anteroom in front of the entrance.

Since 1964 the church has had an owl organ with 708 pipes and 11 stops with mechanical action.
