Johann Adam Ackermann

Johann Adam Ackermann (* 1780 in Mainz ; † March 27, 1853 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German landscape painter in the first half of the 19th century .

Life

From 1801 to 1804 Johann Adam Ackermann stayed in Paris , where he studied history painting with Jacques-Louis David, among others . From 1804 Ackermann lived in Frankfurt am Main. He occupied himself with various graphic techniques, but emerged in particular through landscape painting and watercolors . His younger brother Georg Friedrich Ackermann (1787–1843) was also a landscape painter, albeit with less success.
