Johann Alexander Christ (born September 4 or September 8, 1648 in Wunsiedel ; † August 30 or September 1, 1707 in Leipzig ) was an Electoral Saxon lawyer and mayor of the city of Leipzig in 1703, 1704 and 1706 .

Life

Christ studied law at the universities of Leipzig , Jena and Wittenberg . In 1678 he was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . Christian was the Royal Polish and Saxon Councilor, Head of the Church of St. Thomas , Assessor of the Electoral Saxon Schöffenstuhl and Electoral Saxon Court Councilor.

In 1699 Christ was elected to the Leipzig council. After Johann Friedrich Falckner died in office in January 1703, he served as the mayor of Leipzig until August 27, 1703. In 1704 and 1706 he was also elected mayor.
