Johann Arnold Barckhausen

Johann Arnold Barckhausen (born December 6, 1651 in Rinteln , † June 15, 1726 in Rumbeck ) was a German legal scholar and professor of the Faculty of Law in Rinteln.

Life

Johann Arnold was the son of bailiff Heinrich Dietrich Barkhausen (* 1600 in Lemgo ; † December 3, 1661 ibid) and his wife Beate Hecker (* 1614 in Lemgo; † June 28, 1667 ibid), a niece of Rinteln professor David Pestel . He completed a law degree at the University of Rinteln from 1687 and received his doctorate there on November 15, 1687 as a doctor of law. In 1687 he became an associate professor of law and in 1720 he was given a full chair at the law faculty. After he became Vice Chancellor of the Rinteln Alma Mater in 1721 , he took over the rectorate of the educational institution in 1723. 1726 he was appointed Lippi's advice and counsel .

From his marriage on August 12, 1694 in Rinteln to Margaretha Elisabeth von Friesen, the daughter of a royal Swedish colonel, the widow of the governor in Rinteln David Ernst von Sobbe (* 1656–1692), children come.

On a return trip from Detmold, he died while visiting his son Johann Friedrich (1697–1743), the governor and customs administrator in Rumbeck, in his house. He was buried in the crypt of the Church at Fuhlen on June 20 .
