Johann Baptist Divall
Johann Baptist Divall (* 1672 in Sigleto ; † November 22, 1746 in Sankt Ulrich (Vienna) ) was a bell founder . He can be traced back to 1709 in Vienna and lived “At the Six Schimmeln” - today Ulrichsplatz 12, in the 7th district of Vienna .
Works
Its bells are still preserved in Vienna's Karlskirche , Alserkirche , Rochuskirche , in the parish church of Grinzing and in some churches in Lower Austria .
He achieved fame above all for the bronze canopy of the wedding fountain on Hoher Markt, which he cast based on the wooden model previously set up in 1732 based on the designs by Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach .
progeny
Other bells with the foundry name "Divall" have been found in the Bavarian region between 1786 and 1847 and could have been created in direct descendants (see discussion).
