Life
From 1799 Hoessel worked in the new Chalkographische Gesellschaft in Dessau , which went bankrupt in 1806 . Then he probably went to Russia or England .

In Berlin in 1817 he taught the young painter Friedrich Wilhelm Delkeskamp in copperplate engraving. He also published exercise sheets for his students. For the atlas for the physical description of the Canary Islands by Leopold Freiherr von Buch, he created a map that showed the view of the mountains of Tenerife. He also engraved building views for the plan of Potsdam and the surrounding area, using the Königl's garden plans. Garten-Directeurs Lenne (approx. 1830) or, together with J. Christian Haldenwang and Ebner, the Silesian Views from the Giant Mountains in XIV. Aquatint sheets (1806) based on drawings by Christoph Nathe .
