Johann Baptist Ignaz Freiherr von Waldstätten , (* 2. August 1772 in Vienna , † 30th April 1841 ) was an Austrian lawyer, District Chief , then Councilor and police top director in Vienna, finally, from 1832 until his death in Real Councilor in the Lower Austrian provincial government .

biography

The eldest son of the district administrator Johann Baptist Freiherren von Waldstätten , became a Lower Austrian estate (knighted) in 1808 , then in 1824 district chief of the district under the Vienna Woods (Vienna).

On October 24, 1829, he was appointed court advisor and chief police director in Vienna. Under the impression of the July Revolution of 1830 , as police director, he pointed to the well-known "phlegm" of the Austrian, to his "childlike disposition" and the "lively feeling of obedience and subordination". Without ambiguity, the steward praised the "undyed, natural, loyalty that oozes from deep breasts", the "patriotic joy of unspoiled core natures".

From February 16, 1832 until his death, the baron was a real councilor to the Lower Austrian provincial government.

Johann Baptist married the surgeon Maria Anna Widerin on September 10, 1804 in the Karlskirche in Vienna (June 14, 1775 in Krems an der Donau ; † December 11, 1821 in Vienna).

Together with his brother Franz Georg Dominik, Johann Baptist and his brother Franz Georg Dominik received by imperial resolution in Vienna on October 9, 1834, with a diploma from October 9 of the same year, by presidential channels, the prevalence of the Austrian baron class that had already been held (legally, as can be seen from the nobility files results, a new award was) with the improved baronial coat of arms of his great-uncle Dominik Josef, awarded on April 29, 1754. Here, the gifted people were called “Barons of Waldstätten”, leaving out the old family name “Hayek”.
