Johann Bernhard Schmelzer
Johann Bernhard Schmelzer (* 1833 in Annaberg ; † September 10, 1909 in Dresden ) was a German genre painter, caricaturist and draftsman and illustrator of children's books.
Johann Bernhard Schmelzer studied with Julius Hübner at the Royal Saxon School of Applied Arts in Dresden .
He then worked as a cartoonist and book illustrator in Dresden. Since 1859 his works have also appeared in the " Gartenlaube ".
He died unmarried in 1909 in the Dresden-Johannstadt City Hospital.
