Johann Carl Rohmer

Johann Carl Rohmer (born May 4, 1891 (aaS March 4, 1891) in Nuremberg , † February 15, 1943 in Zell ) was a German painter and commercial artist .

Life

From the age of 15 he studied from 1906 to 1909 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg , then at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe and from 1911 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Peter Halm . From 1914 he was a freelance artist in Nuremberg, a member of the Bund Deutscher Nutzgraphiker and the artists' association of arts and crafts school graduates “Künstlerklause Nürnberg eV”, the forerunner of today's Künstlerhaus Nürnberg .

On his mother's side he was the uncle of Leo Birkmann (1911–1983), the only son of the painter Fritz Birkmann and his wife Madlon nee. Schorr.
