Johann Caspar Rüttinger

Johann Caspar Rüttinger (born June 19, 1761 in Streufdorf ; † July 14, 1830 in Hildburghausen ) was a violinist , organist and music teacher.

Live and act

The son of Johann Christoph Rüttinger (1731–1795), glazier and adjunct in the church choir of Streufdorf, and Margaretha Helena Christina became an organ student of Johann Christian Kittel in Erfurt and was second violinist in the ducal court chapel in Hildburghausen for 40 years. Since its opening in 1795 he has been a teacher for piano, organ, violin and figured bass at the seminary in Hildburghausen. From 1797 he worked for over 30 years as an organist at the Orphanage Church (Neustädter Church, Apostle Church).

In 1808, Rüttinger wrote 109 new melodies for the new Hildburghausen hymn book published in 1807, of which Umbreit included numerous in his chorale book in 1811 . Rüttinger composed 12 cantatas of praise and thanks (1798), chorale preludes in trio, organ pieces and 4-hand piano sonatas.

Rüttinger was married to Johanna Catharina Elisabetha (1773-1844), the daughter of Hildburghausen innkeeper and butcher Johann Georg Martin Leipold. The marriage has 7 children.
